the wizard of oz

In this amazing movie, dorathy the main charecter is sent to a magical land where all of the people are under rule from a wicked witch. The only problem is that she accidentally killed the wicked witches sister and now she has to find her way home with an evil witch trying to kill her. Along the way she befreinds a scarecrow with no brain, a tin man with no heart, and a lion with no courage. She eventually defeats the wicked witch and travels to the wizard of oz who helps them. The wizard gives the scarecrow a brain, the tin man a heart, the lion courage, and Dorathy a ride home.
In the movie the clearest archetype is journey/quest because of the objective trying to be accomplished. The wizard in the movie is a perfect example of the wise old man archetype . Sidekick is also an archetype that is used through the scarecrow, tin man, and lion. The witch in the story is an excelent example of a trickster because she does everything she can to stop Dorathy from going home.
This movie truely is a unique film in my opinion because on top of containing unique charecters and personalities, it also represents what God does for us. The fairy in the story represents Jesus and the witch represents how the devil does everything he can to keep us from the kingdom of God.
