The Qur'an

Studying the Qur'an helped me to better understand the muslum religion and their attitude towards life. The chapter of the Qur'an that we as a class read centered around one main statement: Allah is all powerful and he knows whats best for you. Repeatedly the author of the chapter uses phrases like Allah knows all, Allah sees what you do, and Allah is the mighty lord of peace. By doing this we can assume that they want to leave the reader with the impression of allah having complete control. Also the author says that Allah's wrath will pour upon the unbelievers as if to instill a sort of fear or warning to tell the reader that if they dont believe they will be punished by Allah himself. The Qur'an also seems to support fighting in the first sentence in the second to last section of the chapter by saying that it is good for you. Also there is a whole section of the chapter devoted to making fun of christianity and putting christians down by saying that we dont know anything. All in all I learned a lot by reading this chapter of the qur'an and it was worth reading.
